Description

Polyphenylsulfone resin is a kind of thermoplastic engineering plastic, which is a non-crystalline polymer compound containing sulfone groups and aromatic nuclei in the molecular main chain . Polysulfone usually includes three types: bisphenol A polysulfone (PSU), polyphenylsulfone (PAS) and polyethersulfone (PES). Among polysulfones, bisphenol A polysulfone and polyethersulfone are widely used.

Applications

PPSU is Quadrant's polyphenylsulfone machined profile, an amorphous, high-performance engineering thermoplastic. Compared to PSU and PEI, PPSU has better impact and chemical resistance.

PPSU has excellent hydrolysis resistance and outperforms other amorphous thermoplastics when autoclaved. In fact, PPSU can be placed in a steam sterilization environment an unlimited number of times, and high-pressure steam is widely used to sterilize medical components, making it an excellent choice for medical device devices. In addition, PPSU provides excellent corrosion resistance to commonly used acids and bases over a wide range of temperatures – including commercial cleaners.

PPSU colors are natural (bone white), transparent and other common colors, and can also be customized. PPSU is commonly used in sterile trays, dental and surgical instrument handles, and coupling and assembly applications for fluid control. PPSU is USP Class VI compliant. PPSU can withstand the temperature of soldering and is suitable for electronic assembly equipment and devices. The heat deflection temperature of PPSU is 207°C.
